Event Services Coordinator (full time)
The SD State Fair is looking for a full-time Event Services Coordinator. Primary responsibilities include recruiting special events for the State Fairgrounds, scheduling, coordination and preparation for non-livestock events. Provides clerical support, contract administration and tracking, maintaining filing systems and database, coordinating and fiscal responsibilities to support services for the SD State Fairgrounds. Job requirements include excellent interpersonal, written skills and verbal communication skills, strong computer and organizational skills, detailed orientated and self-reliant.  Hours are 8am-5pm with some required hours on weekends, holidays, and extended hours are during the busy seasons of the year and for special events. $21.66 -$25.78 Hourly, depending on qualifications. Full Job Description

Horizons Hall Building Superintendent (seasonal)
Seasonal employment, minimal hours January through June with more hours July through fair. $15.75/hr. Manage and oversee the Horizons Hall Building during the SD State Fair to ensure fair-time activities and responsibilities are well-planned and implemented. This includes managing competitive entries/exhibits, securing judges, assisting vendors, establishing a schedule, arranging some special events, and more.

Seasonal positions - will start hiring in the spring for 2025 State Fair
Put some extra cash in your pocket! Be a part of a time-honored tradition and be instrumental in the success of the annual State Fair.   The SD State Fair hires for special events and fair week; position availability varies! Positions are open in the following areas: Maintenance, gate admission, beer garden, tap haus, wine pavilion, trolley, grandstand, security, and cattle crossing guard. Hours vary, pay rate varies.
